The Modern School Center is a project where architecture, light and sound merge into one harmonious whole. When implementing this project, UAB “Gaudrė” took care of lighting solutions that not only ensure functionality, but also create an emotional atmosphere of the space – from playful small zones to calm, concentration-promoting spaces for older students.
We are delighted to have contributed to an exceptional project – the interior of the Modern School Centre, designed by the architects ArchDesign x AForm Studio. It is a space where learning meets creativity, and every corner is filled with history, the energy of colours and the rhythm of music.
It all started with one piece – the chorus of a school musical. Its rhythm became the inspiration for the light design and lighting compositions that today shape the pulse of the entire school. Here, light not only illuminates, but also guides, invites, inspires. Like a musical wave, it connects spaces – from the classroom to the amphitheater, where every step has its own pace and mood.
SCHOOL LIGHTING WHERE LIGHT ADAPTS TO HUMAN
The lighting in this project is adapted to the needs of students of different ages. In the younger zones, the light is brighter, encouraging activity, and in the older zones, it is more subtle, helping to concentrate. The classrooms use even, eye-friendly lighting, ensuring good visibility and a cozy atmosphere. In the common areas, light acts as an architectural accent, emphasizing textures, materials and the character of the space.
LIGHT THAT OPENS HISTORICAL LAYERS
Authentic walls, exposed brickwork and lime plaster create a special atmosphere. Warm, natural light tones highlight these elements – the lighting here does not hide, but opens. It helps to see the signs of time, the materiality and the identity of the architecture.

SMART LIGHTING CONTROL
The lighting in the common areas is controlled by Helvar presence sensors, which automatically respond to the presence of people in the room, thus ensuring high energy efficiency and optimizing the use of light. Meanwhile, during classes, the light can also be controlled manually, allowing for flexible adaptation of the spaces to different activities, moods or creative needs. In this way, smart lighting control works together with the person – subtly supporting the rhythm of learning and creativity, ensuring comfort and quality of light.
